A Unique Range of Spirits

Alchemist is a unique range of fine wood-aged spirits created by specialist distillers using the skills of the artisan. The range has been rigorously selected by Gordon Wright and is naturally bottled when the spirit shows off its finest attributes. For this private bottling each selected spirit is bottled without chill filtering and no caramel is added.

The Alchemist range is currently exported to 14 countries and is now available in the UK where it is an ideal addition to the independent retailers’ range, giving the consumer an opportunity to discover something new and the specialist retailer something other than the widely distributed brands.
 

Highland Park 15 Years Old

Highland Park is one of only two distilleries situated on the Orkney Islands to the north of Scotland. This is a stellar example of the power and complexity associated with what is an outstanding and distinctive Single Malt Whisky.

Tasting Notes

Light gold in colour, the aroma is fresh and clean with a whiff of salty toffee.

Flavours of bright citrus fruit balanced with the vanilla of the oak are intertwined seductively with a long smooth and briny finish.
 

Macallan 15 Years Old

Macallan is a superstar amongst the Speyside distilleries and has earned this reputation by producing an elegant and mellow malt. The Alchemist searched long and hard for this outstanding example, matured in Sherry oak casks. It is truly outstanding.

Tasting Notes

Deep gold in colour, with abundant aromas of sweet sherry and toffee.

The flavours of rich dried fruit and sweet oak give a full, rounded and plump mouthfeel followed by a long, smooth and beguiling finish.
 

Calvados 15 Years Old

Christian Drouin has gained a worldwide reputation for producing the finest Calvados. Located in the Pays d’Auge the Distillery uses apples from the family orchards to make cider, which is then double-distilled and matured in oak casks until ready to savour. This is a sublime spirit, which demonstrates its creator’s skills and passion.

Tasting Notes

Flamboyant amber colour, it has a complex, well-balanced nose; the fruit giving a mellow aspect to a palate dominated by wood and spice; full and very long.

As complex as any Single Malt.
 

Armagnac 14 Years Old

The Saint Pastou family has been producing Armagnac at the Château de Castex for the last 150 years. By using grapes exclusively from their own vines and with skilful distillation and management of their maturing stocks, this small Domaine has achieved a tremendous reputation for outstanding quality. The attention to detail in the production of this superb spirit even extends to selecting wood from their own oak forest for cask manufacture.

Tasting Notes

Bright ochre/gold. Honeyed raisins, chocolate, coffee and vanilla - a nose to die for. Rich, with lots of toasted oak.

Very smooth and long with flavours of sweet oranges and vanilla.
