Tasting Note: Dave Broom - Rum 4/5
Colour/Nose: Reddish amber. Huge pot-still influence is immediately apparent. Sweet, fat, almost creamy coconut mixed with resinous, deep notes of liquorice, treacle and clove.
Palate: High-cocao-solid chocolate, then chestnut, honey, walnut. Heavy and oily. Water brings out a gentler nature. A gentle giant with a long and warming finish
Conclusion: Old fashioned yet strangely modern, given our rediscovery of great old rums.
